Aims/priorities: Funding is available to charities in North West England so that they can provide free legal advice to members of the public who would otherwise be disadvantaged and for charitable work that promotes access to justice in the North West of England.
Priority will be given to not-for-profit activities that enable the provision of free legal advice to members of the public who would otherwise be disadvantaged.
- IT or other equipment that increases an organisation’s proven capacity to undertake
- Help with feasibility or research work on a strategic social welfare legal issue covering a wider than local area.
- Assistance to match fund other income streams that have been secured for legal advice work.
- Help with staff training or organisational development that increases effectiveness.
Who can apply: Charities in the North West of England that are providing, or facilitating provision of, free legal advice or assistance to those in need are eligible to apply.
Grant amount: Grants of between £250 and £3,000 are available. In exceptional cases a grant of up to £5,000 may be considered. Application forms are available to download frm the Trust’s website.
Deadline: Applications can be submitted at any time (considered twice a year, in January and July)
