Dear colleagues,

GMCA Education Skills and Work team are looking to commission an Essential Life Skills for Employed GM residents offer to support with Maths, English, Digital or ESOL, or a combination of. Employed residents and volunteers will be supported and encouraged to achieve relevant Essential Skills qualifications as part of this offer.

We are currently intending to procure this in lots, based on type of employer/organisation:

  1. Lot 1 – Large Employers and Public Sector
  2. Lot 2 – SMEs (including Micro SMEs)
  3. Lot 3 – VCSE organisations

GMCA wish to do some additional quick consultation in relation to Lot 3 and as such wish to invite interested organisations to the following virtual round tables:

Roundtable 1 – Route to Market – Monday 11th March, 3pm – 4pm

  1. Who is this roundtable aimed at:
    1. VSCE organisations that currently deliver skills and training across Greater Manchester
  2. What is the aim of this roundtable
    1. To gauge interest and appetite from the sector from any organisations who may be interested in delivering Lot 3
  3. What would the outcome be of this roundtable
    1. This roundtable and the feedback we receive will influence the route to market for this Lot, including how we procure and the most appropriate way for VCSE organisations to access, if there is appetite.

Round Table 2 – Delivery Model – Tuesday 12th March, 11am – 12pm

  1. Who is this roundtable aimed at:
    1. Any VCSE organisation with Greater Manchester
  2. What is the aim of this roundtable
    1. To test the current thinking around the delivery model. Lots of consultation and evidence gathering has taken place so far in relation to employers and employees across Greater Manchester and we want to ensure we’ve captured the voice and feedback of the VCSE sector for Lot 3.
  3. What would the outcome be of this roundtable
    1. This roundtable and the feedback we receive will influence and add value to the proposed delivery model and ensure that we include within any specifications any measures necessary to ensure this commission meets the needs of the VCSE sector

We appreciate that these roundtables are very soon – this is because as we have moved forwards with this piece of work quickly and during development an opportunity to directly support the VCSE sector was identified, and we wanted to follow up with capturing the feedback and voice of the sector.

If you are interested in joining a roundtable, please email MultiplyGM@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk

Best wishes,
