BAME community event

Programme now finalised for the Apprenticeships in the BAME community event on Friday 14th February, see attachment. Last few places available, don’t miss out on this interesting event.

Manchester BME Network and Greater Manchester BME Network will be holding our first joint networking event for 2020 on Friday 14th February at St Thomas Centre, Ardwick Green North, Ardwick, M12 6FZ.

Please note we have a new system for managing GMBME Network events this year. BME individuals and BME-led VCSE organisations in Greater Manchester are eligible to attend events free of charge. Unfortunately, due to lack of funding, we are unable to offer free places to non-BME led VCSE Organisations and non-BME individuals living in Greater Manchester. You are still very welcome to attend, but to ensure costs are covered will need to pay a small annual fee. For full details and to apply for a free or paid place for yourself or your organisation for GMBME Network events through the year, please follow this link and submit the appropriate form. A big thank you to the organisations and individuals who have already done this.

The theme for the February event is apprenticeships, with speakers from across Greater Manchester and the Department for Education, setting a local and national picture with regard to apprenticeships, as well as hearing from apprentices themselves on why they chose this path. Finally it will see discussions within the Network on the best way forward to close the ethnicity gap in GM’s apprentice population.

We will be starting promptly at 10am (registration from 9.30am). For further details and to book online please click on this link
