Bronze Medal for A&T’s Steve Harris

Congratulations to Astley & Tyldesley’s Steve Harris, on taking the bronze medal, in the British Indoor Veterans Final at Coventry on Saturday. Five times champion Steve saw his hopes of overall victory disappear when he came down whilst trying to pass eventual silver medallist Mark Whitehead, of Leicester. Craig Marchant, also of Leicester, won the title, after scoring 19 points, one ahead of Mark. Steve beat another Leicester rider, Craig Whitehead, in a run-off for 3rd place, after both had scored 16 points.

Steve put in a fine performance in Sunday’s British Indoor Open Championship. The six times champion, an all time record, scored 16 points in his semi-final, to qualify comfortably for the final.

Steve put in a steady performance in the final, to finish in 9th place, after scoring 12 points. An impressive showing from a 50 year old rider!

Birmingham’s Ricki Johnson won the title, ahead of Poole’s Ben Mould and Ipswich’s Matt Hill.
