A member of Wigan Rotary Club, Ian Trencher, will soon to be taking on perhaps his toughest ever physical challenge in the form of the 2019 Marathon Eryri, the Snowdonia Marathon in North Wales on the 26th October. This is not just your average 26.2 miles as it contains 3 very brutal and challenging ascents on the course with a total climb of around 2750ft – almost the height of Snowdon itself – and goes all the way around Snowdon.
Ian has been training hard for this event and along the way has already run numerous half marathons, mountain trails, Snowdon itself and even a very muddy ‘Born Survivor’ Obstacle Course.
He is running the Marathon to raise funds for the Wigan Rotary Club Charities Fund, which distributes all money raised to many diverse local charities in the Wigan area as well as a few international ones as well.
