Catherine Aubrey Exhibition

Catherine Aubrey is a local artist, living and working in Appley Bridge.
In earlier years, Catherine produced watercolour paintings before moving on to working with acrylics.
She currently paints in gouache which initially lent itself to her interest in folk art painting and is more recently her chosen medium for a series of landscape and animal paintings.

Catherine has developed a unique and recognizable style of painting based on the use of a mixed palate of colours and highlighted areas of shade and light.

In the current exhibition, she has experimented with dark brooding colours in some of the landscape series and predominantly lighter pastel shades for the animal series. The technique remains the same but the effect of the respective colour palates creates a distinct mood within the two series of paintings.

Catherine has exhibited locally on seven occasions now.  As well as selling her artwork within the exhibitions, she has also received several individual commissions and in 2018 was asked to produce images for publicity materials for the Parbold Art and Music Festival.
