Chorley Hospital’s Accident and Emergency unit will reopen in September if there is no second COVID spike.
A number of people from Standish use the A&E at Chorley and its closure has been widely seen as adding to pressure on Wigan Infirmary.
The service is set to reopen sometime in September – provided that Lancashire does not witness a second spike in coronavirus cases.
