Working in partnership with Wigan Warriors Community Foundation and Wigan Council Public Health Team, we are pleased to announce that we have successfully applied for funding from the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme to develop our own network of Community Energy Champions to support residents across the borough to achieve affordable warmth.

As part of our Energy Champion programme, we will recruit local volunteers based on their existing connections to their local communities and the knowledge and understanding they have of their local areas.  They will act as connectors and enable families to access the relevant advice and support.  The volunteers will receive a comprehensive training package to enable them to provide information and advice surrounding affordable warmth.

If you would like to be part of this exciting new programme, we currently have the following opportunities available:

  • Community Energy Champion Coordinator, Pro rata £10,211, per annum

This role is in partnership with Wigan Council and adopts their Deal for communities’ approach which believes in building resilient communities by utilising the assets that exist locally. By investing in our communities and our local residents we are giving them the skills to support one another and improve the quality of life for people living within their communities.
