23rd March marks the National Day of Reflection. Run by Marie Curie, the day aims to connect and support those who are grieving, while remembering those we’ve lost. This year, the Day of Reflection will help turn the legacy of COVID-19 into one of compassion and community, encouraging people to talk while raising awareness of issues relating to grief.

Over 185,000 people in the UK have died with COVID-19 as the cause of death on their death certificate. Dealing with bereavement during the pandemic has presented many challenges, as restrictions meant funerals weren’t always possible and loved ones weren’t able to say their goodbyes.

With lockdowns now over and fewer guidelines in place, many of us are returning to life as normal. But, not everyone will find it easy. If you are struggling with loss, please speak out and remember you are never alone.
