Astley & Tyldesley riders travelled to Bury, for Round 3 of the Manchester League Grand Prix series.

The Division 2 match was raced first, and it continued the run of close encounters between Astley & Tyldesley and Bury. A&T’s top five scorers beat Bury’s top five by five points, to win the Division 2 match for the second time this year, 66-61. A&T’s Duncan Whalley raced unbeaten in the u-16s group.

This was followed by the Division 1 match, as Bury took their first win of the series. Bury’s Mike Baldock raced to a fine 16 points maximum score. Defending champions, A&T, finished 2nd to retain their lead in the table.

Astley & Tyldesley take on Fife, in a North & Scotland League Division 1 match at Gin Pit on Sunday (19th June), 3 pm start. The match will be preceded by a Club Youth & Junior Individual event, at 1 pm. Spectators welcome, with free admission and car parking, at the Astley & Tyldesley Miners’ Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit, Tyldesley, M29 7DW.
