From 1 April the energy price cap, which limits the rates a supplier can charge for their default tariffs, will increase due to a record increase in global gas prices.

Cold homes can cause us a host of issues and severely impact on health.

If you struggle to keep warm at home and are living on a low income, there are some great sources of support out there.

The Energy Saving Trust provides very useful tips and advice on how to save money on your fuel bills and there is the AWARM Plus service, which can help with benefit entitlement checks, fuel vouchers and technical support.

You can contact the AWARM team on 01942 404261 to check eligibility.

The government has also announced a package of support to help households with the rising cost of living.
