The NHS Blood and Transplant service are urging people to donate their blood plasma – which will be used to make antibody-based medicines called immunoglobulins, for people with weak immune systems and a variety of other rare disorders.

The NHS Blood and Transplant Service are particularly asking for men between the ages of 17 and 66 to consider donating because they are more likely to have blood plasma volumes and larger vein sizes.

Donating plasma takes about 45 minutes and is completely safe.

Please promote this initiative to any faith groups/inter-faith organizations/networks and community groups you are in contact with as the NHS Blood and Transplant Plasma for Medicines programme are very keen to contact these groups?
