GM Workforce Collaborative
Overview: GM Workforce brings together all key stakeholders across GM (localities, regional and national bodies across Health & Social Care), leveraging collective expertise, capacity and resources to implement initiatives, share best practice and accelerate the delivery of key workforce priorities.
Opportunity: The Health and Social Care Partnership is looking to:
1) Recruit a ‘pool’ of VCSE representatives to take park in the Workforce Collaborative Steering Group (every other month)
2) to help design and take part in issue-focused workshops throughout the year
This would suit anyone with an interest or experience in (this list isn’t exhaustive):
· Skills, workforce and leadership development
· Volunteering , especially around health and wellbeing
· Innovative approaches to delivering health and social care services
· Unpaid carers

Overview: Ensuring that children arrive at school ready to learn is an integral part of the Greater Manchester Strategy. The pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on families with young children and we know that VCSE organisations have been vital to supporting families as many services have been withdrawn or moved online. We are working with GMCA to gather intelligence on what life is like for these families and the role that the sector has played.
Opportunity: If your organisations provides emotional or practical support to expectant parents, new parents or families with pre-school or school aged children we’d like to speak with you. There is an event on the 11th Feb and/or you can contribute directly through contacting [email protected]
Greater Manchester Cancer
Overview: GM Cancer – The Cancer Alliance for GM, has a broad focus, from prevention and early diagnosis to living with and beyond cancer and end of life care. The programme includes, among other things, the work of the Pathway Boards that were set up through Manchester Cancer and the work taking place in the Greater Manchester as part of the national cancer vanguard
Opportunity: The Health and Social Care Partnership is looking for VCSE representatives to get involved in the Personalised Care for Cancer programme and the GM Cancer Board. If you’re interested please contact: [email protected]
