grants are made for a wide variety of purposes under the general heading of ‘social welfare

Aims/priorities: Grants are available for charitable organisations in England and Wales facilitating social welfare or recreation activities.

The grant is intended to support registered charities that work in the following areas:

  • Education
  • Poverty relief
  • Recreation
  • Social welfare
  • Support of older people and disadvantaged people

The trustees are interested in who else is supporting the project, the amounts raised and if there are any application requests outstanding or in the pipeline. Groups should be seeking other funding.

Who can apply? Charitable organisations operating in England and Wales are eligible to apply.

Grant amount: Funding is at the discretion of the Trustees and there are no minimum or maximum limits for any grants. Previous grants have been for between £500 and £100,000.

Application process: Groups should write to the Trust for further information on how to apply, there is no formal application process.

Deadline: Applications can be submitted at any time
