Does your business, organisation or group provide a service that could hand a well-deserved boost to the unsung heroes of Wigan Borough?

You have the chance to access a pot of funding to help deliver something that could make a real difference.

We recently launched the first phase of our Let’s Innovate programme, an exciting new way to generate fresh ideas to support different parts of our borough’s communities.

This first session is all about unpaid carers and we’re looking for creative ideas that reflect the important roles they have in our lives.

If you have something to offer, pitch it to us and you could receive funding from Wigan Council to deliver it.

This is a new thing with lots of possibilities, so we’re open to suggestions – think outside-of-the-box as much as you possibly can!

But as a loose guide, perhaps your idea could help carers to: Take time out of their caring roleWind down, relax and take their mind off their workHave fun and take part in activities they enjoyConnect with people in similar situationsMaintain their health and wellbeingA shortlist of the best ideas will go forward to the first ever Let’s Innovate event on March 23.

If you’re keen to give it a go but would like some more information, or you would just like to know more about the project, please email letsinnovate@wigan.gov.uk and book a place at our virtual drop-in session: Friday 4th March, 11:00-11:50For this first event, we’re concentrating on carers who are based in the Scholes, Ince, Swinley, Whelley, Platt Bridge and Poolstock areas of the borough.

But your organisation or business could be based anywhere in the borough, as long as the project can be delivered for those carers.

If you have an idea or suggestion, please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
