The UK Health Security Agency has updated their guidance about what symptoms of Covid-19 can include.
The three symptoms officially recognised in the UK throughout the pandemic have been:
Fever
New continuous cough
Loss of sense of smell or taste
The list now includes an additional nine possible symptoms:
Shortness of breath
Feeling tired
Aching body
Headache
Sore throat
Blocked or runny nose
Loss of appetite
Diarrhoea
Feeling sick or being sick
These symptoms can also be associated with other illnesses so the NHS is advising that we should only stay at home if we have any of the new symptoms listed plus a high temperature, if we’ve taken a positive lateral flow test, or if we feel too unwell to leave home.
