Ian Trencher is taking on the challenge of the Loch Ness Monster Marathon on Sunday 3rd October 2021 by running a huge 26.2 miles along the banks of Loch Ness in Scotland.
The course is a very scenic Nessie shaped route on the undulating road along the side of Loch Ness. He will be driven out to an atmospheric moorland location and then piped off from the start by the bagpipes of a Highland band. After a great many ups and downs he will, hopefully, eventually, reach the grandstand finish at the Highland Capital of Inverness.
He has managed to maintain his training throughout the difficult and challenging isolation of lockdown and has since been preparing for the lumps and bumps of Scotland by taking on numerous events in the Lake District and closer to home including our very own Billinge Lump with Billinge Running Club.
As an Associate Member of Wigan Roptary Club He is hoping to use the opportunity to raise some additional money for the Clubs Charity Fund, which will be of benefit to our many beneficiary charities at home and abroad. Any donations people can offer to support his charity will be very greatly appreciated.
