Manchester Bee monument to visit Wigan Borough

Manchester Bee Sculpture
Manchester Bee Sculpture

A striking and powerful sculpture that carries a serious message about crime is set to visit the borough.

The Manchester Bee is made up of thousands of guns, knives and weapons taken off the streets of Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police officers are taking it around schools to emphasise its anti-violence message.

It is a collaboration between GMP and creators, The British Ironwork Centre.

In addition to visiting schools across the borough, the sculpture will visit:

  • Leigh town centre (afternoon of July 7)
  • Atherton town centre (afternoon of July 8)
  • Wigan town centre (Saturday, July 9)
  • Haigh Hall (Sunday, July 10)
