Meet your Mayoral Candidates: Getting Older People’s Voices Heard in Greater Manchester

The Greater Manchester Older People’s Network (GMOPN) is all about getting older people’s voices heard and making sure that people aged 50+ have an opportunity to influence the decision making across Greater Manchester.

The 2024 Greater Manchester mayoral election is due to be held on 2 May 2024 to elect the mayor of Greater Manchester. The Mayor of Greater Manchester is an important figure in the political life of the city region, entrusted with unique powers and responsibilities.  

This event will be an opportunity to ask questions of our mayoral candidates as well as for the Older People’s Network to highlight the priority issues for older people in Greater Manchester.GMOPN are prioritising places for Greater Manchester residents who are aged 50+ but places are also available for organisations representing key groups for older people in GM. GMOPN will also be approaching organisations who work with specific communities who are less represented within the GM Older People’s Network membership to make sure a wide range of voices are heard.
