We’ve just announced plans for our first virtual book festival, happening in March.
The lineup for the New Words Festival will be announced later this week. Ten events include four poetry and fiction workshops, five author events and readings plus an extra special panel discussion. All events are online and tickets are free. In its 22-year history, Time to Read has never had to put on a fully online programme of events. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve had to do things a bit differently.
Twenty two library services across the North West have used lockdown to plan the joint online book festival. Full details announced very soon, but book festival fans can expect a range of live online author talks, poetry and fiction workshops, readings and discussions.
The New Words Festival celebrates North West independent publishing. Our publisher partners for the project are Manchester’s Carcanet and Comma Press, Liverpool’s Dead Ink, Salford’s Saraband and Newton Le Willow’s Knives Forks and Spoons. This is your chance to discover new writers, pick up some great reads and take part in some unmissable events.
Check back here and follow Time to Read on Twitter for more event announcements and information about to book.
To accompany the ten events you can find a new collection of New Reads Festival books, all available to reserve in your local libraries and all the books are available to buy online from the publishers.
