Dear DAA Members

Date for the diary, we are hosting two focus groups looking at how we can support people with more rare dementias and complex needs via our dementia friendly community work. Alzheimer’s, Vascular and mixed dementias are the most common forms of dementia but the support needs for people living with these dementia types can be different to those living with more rare dementias such as Lewy body dementia, Fronto temporal, Parkinson’s related  for example.

We would like to speak to people living with more rare dementias, families and carers supporting people with these rare dementia types and staff who work with people with these rare dementias.

Staff working with people living with rare dementias

The first session will be on Wednesday 5th February

9:30am – 10:30am at Wigan Town Hall Room G05 and is aimed at staff who are working with or supporting people with rare dementias and those who have more complex needs.  

People living with rare dementias or family / carers

The second session will be on Wednesday 5th February, 11:00am – 12:00 at Wigan Town Hall Room G05 for people who are living with rare dementias and those who have more complex needs and their families / carers.

We will be creating an Eventbright booking option but you can just turn up.  It is vital that the needs of people living with less common types dementia are understood.
