Opportunity for young people to represent the borough at a national level

Young people aged 11-17 are invited to put themselves forward as election candidates to potentially become Wigan and Leigh’s next representatives at the UK Youth Parliament.

The youth elections will be held in October and young people are invited to put themselves forward for election now so that they can benefit from training sessions, which will be run by Wigan and Leigh Youth Cabinet over summer.

The two winning candidates will represent the views of local young people at a national level, and the opportunity has previously included the chance to attend an annual meeting in the House of Commons.

If you know a young person who has a lot of opinions but is also a good listener and cares about improving the UK for future generations, this could be a fantastic opportunity for them.
