We are now recruiting for The Prince’s Trust Team Programme in both Wigan & Leigh.
Both Programmes will start on Monday 07.09.2020 and will be running from the usual bases. Wigan – Hallgate & Leigh – Church St.
For the safety of both staff & learners. Socially distancing measures, new safety policies and procedures. And strict cleaning plans have been introduced and implemented at both venues.
And we will be following government guidelines as these change in the coming Days/Weeks/Months.
This is a brilliant programme for anyone aged 16-25 who is looking to gain qualifications, work on confidence, self-esteem, gain work experience, have fun and develop themselves to help build their job prospects. There are limited spaces for 19+ so we are looking to recruit those that are really invested in improving their prospects.
The qualification they will work towards is the Prince’s Trust certificate in Employment, Teamwork And Community skills. They will also complete a Level 1 Money Management qualification on team. Due to Covid – 19 restrictions there will be NO residential on this team programme and I have attached a new leaflet with these details.
The programmes units are as follows:
Planning for personal development
Supporting others in the Community
The Challenges include:
A community project
2 Work experiences (in a career path of your choice)
Working with local community groups
Additional sessions on the programme include:
Sexual health awareness sessions
Drug & alcohol awareness, legal
First Aid & Health & safety
CV & interview skills
Mock Interview training
Presentation and public speaking skills
A final presentation
Participants will receive the following:
A weekly bus pass if they need help with travelling in to team.
Support throughout the programme to help gain employment.
If students are on Universal credit, they can still claim, this will not affect their benefits.
If parents or carers claim child tax credits they will continue to do so as we are an approved training centre.
These students could be entitled to a bursary from the college, and possible meal vouches.
Children in care or care leavers 18 & under will be able to claim a bursary from the college.
The above bursaries are dependent the completion of the relevant paperwork, compliance and 90% or above attendance.
There is also the chance to gain up to £100 development award of a high street voucher on completion & File verification by the college
