“Ride Anywhere Week”


Transport for Greater Manchester would like to share details around a cycling initiative from Love to Ride called “Ride Anywhere Week” which is taking place from 21 – 27 March and may be of interest to your organisation/team,  your employees, and your service users/residents/students/customers.

Love to Ride is an online platform that encourages cycling, and Ride Anywhere Week (21 – 27 March) is their spring campaign to encourage people to enjoy the many benefits of riding a bike. During Ride Anywhere Week, riders will have the chance to pick a pledge and have one week to complete it. They can choose between the following pledges:

·        Ride for health and fitness – helping people to feel happier, healthier and stronger

·        Ride for adventure – whether it’s riding somewhere new or going bike packing, this is perfect for any budding adventurer

·        Ride with kids – turn bike time into family time

·        Ride for transportation – to work, school or to the store, helping people leave cars at home

Anyone, no matter their riding level, can take part and Love to Ride will provide plenty of tailored tips, tricks, and tools to help riders overcome barriers and complete their pledges.  During the challenge, participants will simply ride their bike and log the rides and they’ll automatically be entered into the prize draw to win vouchers worth up to £500. Ride Anywhere Week may be something your organisation, employees, and audiences are interested in, as it could encourage active travel behaviour change which will help with wider goals of decarbonisation, improving air quality, reducing noise pollution, easing congestion, and improving physical and mental health.
