Grants are available for local community-based organisations in Great Britain to reach those who may face barriers to getting a smart meter. The focus in 2018 is providing funding and support to people over the age of 60 who have no personal internet access, those over the age of 65 and those who are severely or profoundly deaf.

Smart Energy GB, the national campaign for the smart meter rollout, has launched the five year Smart Energy GB in Communities Fund, which will be managed by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).

Every home in Britain will be offered a smart meter by 2020 at no additional cost.

This fund is to support Smart Energy GB’s work to help everyone in Great Britain understand smart meters, the national rollout and how to use the new meters to get their gas and electricity under control.

The funding is available as both Large and Small Grants to local community organisations that can help engage people and communities across Britain with information about how to get and use smart meters.

The funding is particularly aimed at projects and initiatives that can reach those who may face barriers to getting a smart meter.  Application Deadline: 14 May 2018
