The 2020 cycle speedway season opens at Gin Pit on Sunday (15th March). Astley & Tyldesley begin their defence of all three North & Scotland League titles against the Edinburgh
Falcons club. A&T won two very hard fought Divison 1 matches against the Falcons last year, but lost out to Edinburgh in the North & Scotland Cup Final.
The racing starts at 12 noon, with the Division 3 match, for u-13 riders, followed by the Division 1 match for the two first teams, then the Division 2 match for the two second
teams. This will be followed by two matches between A&T and the Sheffield Stars club, with the Division 3 match starting at 3 pm, followed by the Division 2 match.
Lee Phillips has stepped down as 1st team manager, after three title winning seasons. His replacement is fomer World Champion Steve Harris, who also holds the record number of
British Individual title wins. Steve brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role.
Racing is bound to be fast and furious, at the cycle speedway track at the Astley & Tyldesley Miners’ Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit, Tyldesley, M29 7DW. Spectators are
welcome, with free admission and car parking.
