The members of The Wigan Women’s Friendship Club have enjoyed weekly meetings since we returned after our summer break. On Thursday 13th September members enjoyed a meal at the Owls in Standish to celebrate our 37th birthday. At our AGM on 20th September a new Speaker Secretary, Mrs Nancy Rose, was elected. Mrs Joyce Holmes who held the position for close on 20 years, and served on the Committee since the Club started in 1981, has had to resign due to her own health and family reasons. We appreciate and thank her for all the hard work and dedication; she has given to the group.

At our weekly meetings we have had afternoon with Richard Hall giving us a musical afternoon entitled “The Best of British” and this week we look forward “Another Look at the UK”.

The programme till the end of the year is below:

October

18th      “Slide Show” given by Jim Holian

25th     “Cycling from the Himalayas to the Ganges

Nov 1st      No Meeting
