On Saturday (1 August) changes introduced by the BBC mean some residents aged 75 and over will have to pay for TV licences. Wigan Council is working in partnership with CAB and Age UK to ensure people get the support they need and understand the changes.
Customers receiving Pension Credit will not be required to pay but those eligible still need to make a claim.
Our own welfare line can offer support, advice and help to complete forms over the phone on 01942 705221, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
So if you know a family member or friend that this might affect then please help share the message and our teams can offer support. There is also more information about the changes online: https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one/for-your-home/aged-74-and-over-aud3
