Please find attached a list of the events coming up at The Old Courts
We are very excited to have our new venue, The Holding Cell …. open in The Bailiff Bar. Thursday nights will now have engaging live music, poetry, comedy or open mic opportunities.
All Thursday events and our full programme will be available on www.theoldcourts.com.
We have some wonderful events coming up in May.
My recommendations for this month are:
Bank Holiday Blowout Festival on Sunday 05/05/2019 (Tickets Here). A packed evening with our favourite bands, including Hans Shenans, The Stetsons Electric, Stanleys and more!
Valves, Vinyl and Jazz feat. album: Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours on Wednesday 15/05/2019 (Free Event – Details Here)
Each month will see a classic album presented by pro audio engineer Haden Boardman, followed by interpretations of classic tracks by talented house jazz band Pretty Standard.
Wheatus on Sunday 26/05/2019 (Tickets Here)
Wheatus are just a year away from the 20th anniversary of their debut album and still ubiquitous single ‘Teenage Dirtbag’. We’re so excited that they are joining us at The Old Courts.
Charity Screening of 7 Days on Thursday 30/05/2019 (Tickets Here)
The Story Of Blind Dave Healey’ Featuring Music From Wigan’s Own Rik Jones.
Our team is made up of local creatives and we’d really appreciate anything you can do to help us spread the word!
If you’d like to come and visit for a tour around our building or to attend an event that would be great, just let me know dates and I’ll be happy to make arrangements.
The Old Courts is an independent venue situated in Wigan, right beside the train and bus stations, halfway between Liverpool and Manchester. Our building houses two music venues, a theatre, an art gallery, a Victorian Courtroom and some ancient prison cells in the cells. Our upcoming events include Northern Soul Nights, Something New Show (comedy and poetry mashup), regular folk nights, art exhibitions, three up-and-coming live bands most Fridays, open mic poetry, and loads more.
We are the happy home of The Coven, Bailiff Bar and Static Records. Looking after Wigan folk and any hankering they may have for great food, lovely drinks, coffee, music or just a nice chat.
