Hi all, thank you to everyone who attend the Proper Good programme Launch yesterday.  We will send out info and photos from the event on next week’s SE Bulletin.

In the meantime, please see these 2 articles below.

  • GM VCSE Workforce Survey (deadline for responses is Monday)
  • Job Opportunities within the Old Courts

GM VCSE Workforce Survey

As we know from the State of the VCSE sector research, there are around 75,000 paid staff and 500,000 volunteers working in charities, community groups, faith-based organisations and social enterprises across Greater Manchester. This is a massive workforce of people who are dedicated to doing good in their communities.

We also from many conversations that the Covid19 pandemic has had a major impact on workforce wellbeing, retention and recruitment in VCSE sector organisations – and that there are inequalities within our sector, just as there are in communities.

Over the next 18 months, the sector’s local infrastructure organisations across Greater Manchester will be working together to improve our support on workforce issues – including matters such as HR support, leadership development, workplace wellbeing and recruitment.

But before we do that, we want to find out what is important to you right now. Is it recruitment? Is it salaries? With the support of GM Health and Social Care Partnership, we are working with RobertsonCooper to gather feedback.

Sorry it’s another survey! However, this is a unique opportunity to look at what challenges and opportunities there are to supporting the single most important thing in all our organisations: our people. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BC9W3KD

The Old Courts – Job Opportunities

A cultural revolution is happening in Wigan borough, and we’re looking for people to join us! We are currently looking to build our team at The Old Courts and launch a brand new Creative People and Places programme across borough.

The Old Courts is based in Wigan, a town in the heart of the North West with established travel networks, making it an ideal place to live and work. The Old Courts office spaces in Wigan Town Centre are easily reached in less than an hour from Manchester and Liverpool. Easy access to the motorway network will make trips a breeze via the M61, the M6 and M62 or the M61 and A56 (Manchester) and M58, A571 and A580 or the M62 (Liverpool). With two train stations in the town centre, the area also benefits from fantastic public transport links with a regular, speedy service to the surrounding cities.
