A young Wigan anti-littering and recycling campaigner is getting the message out to residents to make the borough a greener, cleaner place. Adorable budding environmentalist Ember McNamara, five, is the star of Wigan Council’s new recycling campaign and talks in a video about the importance of looking after the planet.
Ember regularly does litter picks in the Haigh Plantations as she is extremely concerned wildlife could be injured by litter left thoughtlessly around. And after expressing a desire to visit the town hall to discuss waste issues with council chiefs the local authority was delighted to team up with Ember to spread the eco message.
